Actually,BA15 base is an Bayonet base that has a width that is 15mm (0.59in).
The lower cases after the base diameter is the number of contacts on the base's bottom, and based on the amount of contacts, S means that Single contact.
While both bases have two lugs on the side of the base the difference between them is that Ba15s have the lugs at 180 degree and Bau15s has the lugs at 150 degree apart.
