For cars, LED light sources (not limited to front headlights) have the following 7 advantages:
1. Energy saving and low cost: The luminous efficiency of LED can reach 80%~90%. If we use our daily energy-saving lamps as an example, energy-saving lamps are 4/5 more energy-efficient than incandescent lamps, and LED is also 1/4 more energy-efficient than energy-saving lamps. In cars, the energy consumption of LED components for the same daytime running lights is only 1/20 of that of halogen lights. The cost of LED components has also significantly decreased year by year, and the cost and price are still decreasing by more than 20% annually.
2. Long lifespan: Most LED components used in cars can reach a lifespan of 50000 hours, while well-known automotive lighting suppliers can already provide LED components with a lifespan of 100000 hours, equivalent to 11 years. Considering the frequency of light usage, LED components generally do not need to be replaced during the design lifespan of the entire vehicle. In contrast, the lifespan of xenon lamps is only about 3000 hours. Moreover, LED makes the shape and lines of the headlights more diverse, and the recognition at night is also higher.
3. Good durability: LED components have a simple structure, excellent impact and seismic resistance, are not easily broken, and can adapt well to various environments.
4. LED components are small in size, compact and easy to arrange and design: This is a huge advantage of LED, which fully caters to the evolutionary needs of automotive manufacturers in design, breaking the constraints of lighting systems on design innovation in the past, and allowing us to have more creative automotive products.
5. Fast response speed: The LED lights up in just microseconds, and when used on taillights and turn signals, it can quickly light up to achieve better warning effects. When used on front headlights, it has a higher response speed compared to xenon and halogen headlights, providing better protection for driving safety.
6. Low brightness attenuation: LED brightness is high, and the brightness attenuation of light is much lower than that of halogen lamps. It is suitable for use as lighting and warning lights such as brake lights and turn signals.
7. Low voltage direct current can drive, with small load, weak interference, low requirements for usage environment, and good adaptability. Unlike xenon lamps, which require a boost device (high-voltage package).
