Therefore, LED car lighting, especially in the popularization of headlights, still needs to reduce system costs to promote.
2. Efficiency
The luminous efficiency of LED in vehicle level is significantly lower than that of civilian level. Due to space limitations and ground illumination requirements, vehicle LED (especially lighting type) layouts often have high power, and compact layouts require active cooling systems to improve energy consumption.
3. Optical performance
The application of LED makes the optical design of automotive lighting more diversified, while providing higher color temperature, wider and more uniform lighting effects.
However, LED car lighting, especially signal lights and ambient lights, has high requirements for color consistency. Currently, downstream car lighting manufacturers generally use BINs that control LED supply to ensure color consistency. The fewer BINs selected, the better the color consistency, and the higher the price; On the other hand, the use environment of automotive lighting fixtures (such as the engine compartment) has a large temperature difference, and good color stability is very important.
4. Reliability
There is a significant difference between LED car lighting fixtures and general lighting fixtures, mainly manifested in input voltage fluctuations, changes in vibration intensity and frequency during use, as well as changes in heat in the engine compartment and other surrounding areas, temperature and humidity fluctuations, solar radiation, salt spray corrosion, dust drop, and many other factors. Therefore, the reliability requirements for LED car lighting fixtures and fixtures are much higher than those in the general lighting field.
